cuban and haitian, i think.
i mostly just do what they tell me. -they're all very precise rhythms, with little deviation. the magic is in the accurate alignment of all the different rhythms, since everyone plays a different one.

(i'm considering becoming a rock n' roll drummer for a grrrl band. it's been a long time coming. i'm hoping to start with some kind of drumming lessons once i get to nyc. isn't this all so exciting!?)
