istud quod facio, non facio nisi ut inveniam te

i have been visited by doves, enticed by augury. in thin november mornings, the mourning doves. which deity incarnates thus? by what name shall i address you? i know only the legend of pairs of crows, messengers of mahakala, who roost in rooftops far from mine. the exaltations of god and the envoys of god ( Read more... )

honey, sometimes i miss you. and i feel you getting farther and further away from my lumpen clay, like your tether is unraveling. and even as you become so beautiful, so bright and unbound, i wish in my dark way that you would stay as flattened to earth as me. so i can keep you.

love,
your girl

my girl, i miss you, too. but ofcourse i am not so far from you. or if i am, it is geographically only, which we both know will be remedied as soon as either of us is rich, or at least not so poor. so do not worry about keeping me; i am kept! and i am sending you love and reassurances.

well. but i persist in the belief that you are made of finer stuff. and you cannot shake me from my conviction. even with your womanly hips!

I would like to send you something, a small something, for you to hold in your grace-giving hands.

I kept envisioning Hiroshige prints while reading this. It left me wanting to say something in response, words that would mean something, but it is too beautiful to talk about and you are too much a stranger to do you the disservice of trying overmuch. It becomes impossible to unwind the image from the idea, the lyric from the landscape; like Hiroshige. But I read it this morning, returned to it often throughout the day, and feel utterly grateful for you beautiful strangers in the wide open world.

i don't believe i have ever seen a hiroshige print before, at least not knowingly, so i thank you verymuch for sharing this. it is stunning, and i am flattered that what i wrote could remind you in any way of such art.

there are lots of beautiful strangers in the world, and i am glad that you are one, too. :)
