So today, being filled with a boredom which had no equal, I decided to adventure for my weapon. I tried first the local gun/pawn shop right down the road from the plant where I work. BINGO! I walked in and found the fellow who runs the place chatting away with a wirey little man. I asked if he had any Samozaryadnyi Karabin sistemi Simonova rifles.

Brake cleaner is better for the metal of a gun barrel than pure mineral spirits. Go with that.

You of course would know that. I finally got it functioning properly today, all that bloody cosmoline was a pain to remove, but now it fires beautifully.
