Last night it was a fairly cloudless night, so we headed a mile or two down the road to the River Derwent, which is in flood at the moment to take some photos. Some by the bridge at Bubwith, some from the path down to the bird hide a little nearer to North Duffield ( Read more... )

Thanks. It was actually the last shot I took from that location before moving on (to the bird hide, out of the wind!), so I just cranked up the shutter time to see what I could get.

I will probably do a little GIMPing on it though to remove the twig top left. All the photos are just straight off the camera, resized. I think a little post processing might bring out some more detail. Unfortunately I forgot to set the camera to uncompressed TIFF, so there's a bit of JPEG aberration evident.
