Of awkward social situations that should, I hope, stay firmly in dreams only.

So, I thought I should share a dream I had a few weeks ago with everybody.

The dream (set in an urban scenario with zombies which was not, strangely enough, an actual apocalypse - more of a constant warfare situation like late nineties Kosovo or living in Somalia) involved a strange acquaintance/friend of mine called Daryn, from Bristol, and a strange situation I found myself in with him.

I had introduced him over the internet to a friend of mine (that some of you will know) and they had really hit it off - to the degree that every time that I saw him, he'd mention her and ask when he was likely to see her, when she would come to visit. On a straight man I'd probably have been a bit more defensive of my friend but from him it was harmless and nice.

The issue had arisen in that the friend in question (that some of you know) was Rose. For those of you not familiar with her the issue is that Rose is entirely fictional and exists only in the head of myself and the other writers who have read things I have written about Rose.

And Daryn was of course not aware of this.

Not to say though that she's not fleshed out - and half of the issue lay in that she's complete enough a person that I couldn't just produce someone female to pretend to be her.

Still, as awkward social situations to be stuck in within a dream this one really stands out. As timing had it, the same run of days after this dream I ran into Daryn and, thanks to him crying all over me in a stress and dick-induced emotional breakdown, he did manage to burst through the acquaintance barrier and firmly into the friend.

Still. Haven't told him about the dream yet. Not sure how to approach that one!
