I LIVE FOR THIS SHIT

I rescued a cat this evening O.o

So, I'd stopped by Chris' house to return some stuff o his that i'd barrowed and as i walk up his driveway i hear a cat meow. it was very distinct and i could tell it was close by. I didnt pay much attention to it at first but as i got up to his porch i realised the meowing hadn't stopped once from my car to the door and, curious, i turned around in order that i may locate it's source. I look at where i first thought it was coming from, across the lawn, and saw nothing. I heard it again and looked next to his tree but I still could't see it. third time is always a charm, and i looked stright up to see it nearly at the top of the tree. It was sitting up there meowing non-stop, and i came to realise that the poor guy was stuck up there. I felt so sorry for it. So i went inside to tell them but chris' mom was already in the process of calling Humanes and the animal shelter but they couldnt help an gave some lame exscuse, sooo we took matters into out own hands. Bob, chris' dad, got out a latter but it only could get us about 2/3 the way to the cat so I climbed as far as i could to him, refer to figure A.
Fig. A

THE TRASHCAN WAS CLEAN I SWEAR. I told Bob i love rockclimbing and this wasnt a farcry from it, he then pointed out that should I fall there wasnt really a rope to catch me, but i replied "I LIVE FOR THIS SHIT!" and I only slipped and nearly fell to my doom once an I caught myself quickly enough. I was glad to have a real reason to climb some random tree.
But yeah i knew i wouldnt be able to climb down with the cat and it would also be very difficult to pass it to Bob if it squirmed around too much. so i was trying to snatch him up in a pillow case but i kinda needed another arm or two to make it work without sliding him mistakenly down the side o the pillow case and dropping him the 30 or so feet to the ground ~noo goood~ abandoning the pillow case i had Bob grab a good size *empty n clean* trashcan cus i figured he wouldnt be able to climb out while in transit and also, as the diagram shows, i was able to just lower him into it.
At first all the cat wanted to do was rub his face on the gloves i was wearin and was making it extremely difficult to scoop him up as his rear two claws dug into the tree whenever i tried to grab him. he was sittin up there purring and lettin me scratch at him but it was a while before i managed to coax him far enough out to me so i could get him. i first just pulled him to me and he latched onto my coat. He started scratching his chin against my stuble and i was like "aww... *ouch(claws were digging into me) but umm you need to unhook yourself, really, and get in the damn can" i must have called that cat so many names (bugger, mongrol, fiend, satanic furball, to name a few) while i was hanging up there, cus it was pretty frickin cold and i'd been up there for about 20 minutes bracing myself against parts of the tree trying to come up with a safe (for both of us) rescue plan. When we finally got him down with the can we gave him some bacon we'd cooked up for him and he utterly destroyed it. appearantly the cat had been up in the tree for atleast 3 days before this and up till this evening they had thought he died or something.
When i first had the urge to climb up to him chris pointed out that rabies sucks, so i was like yeah good point :( but when we looked closer we saw that he had a collar and, using gloves just in case, we made our attempt anyway. something that pissed me off when i finally got my new little buddy down was that, though he had a collar and a ring on it his tags were missing. I think it highly unlikely that they just fell off which made me think that someone had just "let him go" or something... GGRRRR. but its awesome cus chris' parents said they'd take care of him, since they hadnt seen any posters up for him and they poor thing was kinda boney at this point so that whoever his previous owner was, they sucked immensely. The cat quickly had become attacthed to me and them anyway which was cool, too bad my step-dads allergic or else i'd try an keep him.
They are gunna get him a check-up here soon an i hope that doesnt turn up anythin real bad. but yeah thats my long-winded post of the year... to date! Ima get a picture o him tomarrow (today)for you guys to see. more to come of my many adventures over the past year... as soon as i find my damn camera cable. im gunna try to use this thing more, REALLY I DO!
