I've just read that, in your passport photo, you are prohibited from wearing any sort of hat or headgear 'unless it is worn for religious beliefs' (source: UK Passport Agency Website). Sorry, but I'm calling bullshit on that.

Religion is a choice. It's something you decide to do. So why should you get special treatment in cases like this over ( Read more... )

The exception to the rule, if i remember correctly, was a blues brothers impersonator who had changed his name by deed pole. He argued that as he never removed the hat or dark glasses and would be going through customs wearing them every time then it was only rational that they let him wear them in his passport photo. As far as I'm aware that's the only time they've ever relaxed the rules.... and it took him a while to get them to do it that one time.

Though if you're volunteering to try again then we'll back you 100%.
