Hey Richard, as far as the weight thing goes just remmeber that as you get closer to your goal weight it will slow to just a trickle, but keep it up and you will get there. Weight always comes off faster in the beginning. I'm glad you and Shireen are still doing so well. Keep your head up and don't forget to smile, it helps.

I do tend to forget to simply keep my head up and smile. It is good advice, thank you. Maybe that is part of what is happening to me, regarding weight loss. But I still feel like I could be doing more to accelerate things. Perhaps I am just being impatient. It wouldn't be the first time. :)

I really appreciate your kind words about Shireen and I as well. We're trying hard to make it work, with good results. Take care,

You know, I fealt that way through most of school. As long as you give them the answers they want, you'll get a good grade. My sister and I would be able to help you with the speaking part... her more than I as I am sadly out of practice...

As for getting back on track? This is something I'm working on that too, right now... Haven't gotten back into Belly Dance yet, though hopefully soon... Not drinking soda any more, but still eating candy. I hope I can break out of, or curtail that heavily again. It seems harder to start up again, now that I've done it already. But, here's to trying...

Trying sounds good to me too. It's all we can do.

I've been hesitant to take you and your sister up on that offer of spanish talking, but I am going to be reevaluating that decision within the next few weeks. My spanish class will be all finished after the end of May. What's your June evenings looking like? :) P.S. would you mind tossing me your sister's email address? I'll CC you on the request I'm about to make on her time.

Take care, and good luck!

No worries. ^_^ Send me an email to the account on LJ, and I'll get it to you. June evenings can be talked over. ^_^

I understand the feeling; I'm there myself.

You can take college classes for non-credit, if you want; my university calls that "auditing." And you /can/ be a receptionist your whole life if you really want to; most of the AAs or secretaries I've known were elderly.

Practicalities aside, I say, hang in there! You've recongnised the trend and so you can adjust it. It might take a while, but any motion is worthwhile. :)

Thank you for the positive words. I will look into the auditing part of college and see how that fits into my life and what I need ( ... )

Instead of trying to do everything all at once, maybe you could get on some kind of a schedule...for example, Spanish and exercise one week, spiritual stuff and exercise the next.

You would love one of the programs I'm doing right now...it's about food and nutrition and all sorts of other stuff. It's kind of about approaching food from a spiritual perspective. I'll have to tell you more about it whenever I see you next. You and Shireen may be able to find some things you'll both eat if you explore a bit more. :)

I've moved, but I'm in a more convenient part of the city now and you're welcome to stay here if you want to come to SF again.

Doing thing on a schedule basis, as you mentioned, would work out very well if I could find a way to self-teach myself spanish. I have been working on an option for doing just that. So far it is an interesting plan that requires a bit more research. But I like the idea of shifting focus by week. I haven't tried that yet.

I would love to hear more about the nutritional aspects that are tied to spirituality. That sounds like something I would be very interested in hearing about right now. I am also very happy about your move. I heard you were in a pretty bad place these last few months, and I am very happy to hear it has been resolved. A visit to SF to talk with friends sounds like a wonderful idea. I won't be able to take you up on that offer until after school gets out, but shortly afterwards, I would be very interested in taking a stroll around SF park with you.

Take care Alex. I'll be seeing you soon.

Um... so WHY? do you want to learn spanish? Your goal for eating better and exercise is clear, but your goal for learning spanish is unclear. Language is a tool, what's your real goal. Does that goal require written or spoken forms of the language or both. If you want to be a peroson who speaks spanish the best thing you can do is start hearing and speaking spanish.

Change doesn't take ponderous amounts of time, change takes a fraction of a second. You simply decide on the change and start behaving like that. It's a sentiment I've lifted from Tom Peters.

Hey, baby. Keep in mind that _thinking_ your way through this is not the only solution. You are so much more than just an analytical mind. You are a passionate heart and a beautiful spirit as well. Take the time you spoke of to not only evaluate but to ponder leisurely and _relax_ your way to an answer. Trust in yourself and never ever forget that I am here for you! Use me as a resource whenever you feel the "need". I have so much to offer. I truly want only the best for you. You know that. I love you and I believe in you! You'll get through this better and stronger and closer than ever to being the best Richard you can be!!! Just don't "need" too much or hold on to should's too tightly. Trust in yourself and the Universe will provide the answers. All you have to do is align yourself, be in balance and listen. The answers are there inside yourself, whispering. :)
