It's been raining all day here. I went to the City museum of Prague today and then took a nap. My workday seems to be splitting into three parts - two hours first thing in the morning, four hours in the late afternoon, and another hour just before bed. So, I have just arrived in Prague. I am going to settle into the working groove in a bit, but figured I'd check in here first. My flight was delayed, so I ended up getting in three hours later than planned. Jack said something in our discussion of same that struck me as true:
There is nothing inherently wrong with posessing a gender identity, only in enforcing negative patternsI think this has some merit to it. Any one "gender-charged" item isn't inherently bad - makeup, dresses, toy guns. The problem is the baggage ( Read more... ) -
a question for the masses
Why is it that whenever we talk about "gender neutral" toys, clothes, etc. it is only "girly things" that are off the table? I ask, because I like girly things like lace dresses, tea sets and flowered hats ( Read more... ) -

planting in pouring rain = not fun.
On the bright side, my shade plants came in the mail today. Since we'll be away most of the weekend, it seemed best to brave the rain. Plus, with the ground soaking wet, it was easy to dig out the hostas I don't want, and I didn't need to water any of the new plantings. -

Just got back from lunch with C. and 6 mo old F. I had the Kan Shue string beans, C. had the Garlic chicken, and F. had mashed sweet potatoes. Note to self - when you have a baby, get one of these. It's genius!!
C. has all the best baby stuff. Doubtlessly raising three of someone else's kids has given her a connosieur's nose for the good among ( Read more... ) -

Trying to get new glasses on the old insurance before it runs out (and the new one takes effect). Blue Cross is - predictably - being very unhelpful. I know some portion of glasses are covered, since we paid for the vision plan. Jack actually just got new glasses near here. He just gave the guy his card, and they discounted the cost ( Read more... ) -
Weekend in review
So, on Saturday we drove down to RI to help move Master El's stuff (so that his landlord doesn't throw it all out while he's in the hospital). El had been letting the housekeeping slide for some time, so it was a daunting, grubby job.
