Is this statement sound and valid

Our sun is less than half way through it's life and won't engulf the inner planets and vaporise all life on earth for another 6 billion years. Whatever life remains on earth at that time won't be human, and will be at least as different as humans are to bacteria today, as it is as much time as it has taken to evolve from bacteria.

Poke some holes!

It is also an example of genetic determinism to suppose that life will continue to evolve at the rate it has, or in the 'direction' it has... so to speak.
