Oh, it's your light
Oh, it's your way
Pull me out of the dark
Just to shoulder the weight
Cryin' out now
From so far away
You pull me closer to love

James Ford did not believe in soulmates. Everything in his life had shown to him that there was no thing as fate or destiny. Things happened because people made decisions, to cheat, to murder, to lie.
Juliet Carlson believed in love at first sight, fate, soulmates, and everything that came with those thoughts. Then she married Edmund Burke and all her beliefs came tumbling down.
When James first got to the island, it did not bother him in the least.
When Juliet first got to the island she missed her sister dearly but knew she could help these people.
When they were rescued he thought maybe him and Kate could start something.
When they were rescued all Juliet could think was how she would give anything to be on that helicopter.
When James asked her to stay for two weeks he’s not sure what made him ask but all he knew was he did not want to be alone.
When Juliet agreed to stay for two weeks, she’s not sure what compelled her to say yes, whether it was his dimples or his smile or maybe she was not quite ready to give up on seeing her sister again. Whatever it was she agreed.
When they fell in bed together for the first time James had never been happier.
When they had sex for the first time Juliet had never been more frightened.
When James realized he loved Juliet he was surprised.
When James told Juliet he loved her she shocked herself when she realized she loved him too.
When James bought the ring for her he was stunned to realize how he was not nervous at all.
When Juliet was dying James had never felt such sorrow.
When James was holding her in his arms as she was dying she had never felt such love.
When they met up again they had never known such joy and as they sat in that church they would know it for the rest of their lives.
