I love your quote of the day - I can't say how many times I've answered the phone at work with my super-perky customer service voice and there's been a long pause at the other end before they say "hi". Usually it turns out they had a complaint about their last delivery and they were all set to be angry and annoyed with me - as a representative of the company - and they aren't sure what to do with their anger in light of my oh-so-cheerful attitude.
