The Danish version of Blind Date, which I saw about 20 years ago, actually matched up people who might like each other and then they went off and had a really nice date. Really popular, too - it was on each night of the week, alternating between girls picking boys and boys picking girls. And they had to do additional tasks (like put up a deckchair) and not just the question-and-answer bit. It was great, I loved it.
