Being "well informed" is fairly overated. Sanity is far more important. Rumors are just a manifestation of other people's boredom. Let it go, concentrate on the things that are important to you and let everyone else be damned.

...started by JEALOUS people" or so the cheesy 80's song goes! So just remember that if people are a-talkin', they are just jealous of how cool you are. It's also possible people are simply bored with their own lives so they must talk about someone else's. At any rate, don't worry...they rarely have their facts straight (remember that game "telephone"?) so the story floatin' around isn't likely to be accurate anyway. And let them believe what they want...if they'd rather assume a story is true than get to know you then that's their loss. Chin up honey! And take out the trash!
