Well, if you want my opinion...

The fact is that Hitler actually existed and there are records of the atrocities which he inflicted upon thousands upon thousands of innocents, as opposed to Satan, who may or may not exist, and is generally known for torturing those who are bad, evil, or (at the very least), not worthy of heaven and all its wonders. So that's at least one part of one argument against dressing up like Hitler for Halloween.

That said, I think the world is far too politically correct, and is on the verge of failing to function as a result. Degenderizing things, freaking out over kid's costumes, eliminating win/lose scenario school games, etc. - it's ridiculously unreal. I simply object to the Hitler costume because I find it in poor taste.

...though now that I think of it...Hitler himself would probably find it highly offensive...and what's better than offending the offender?

In the end, the whole concept of Halloween today, in our society, is a commerical sham anyway. But what isn't?

I agree with you completely. I wouldn't dress up like Hitler because in my opinion it's bad taste. But it's not like we should punish someone who makes that decision.

It is a commercial scam too, as with a lot of other things. But at least it's fun.

I fail to see the relation between degenderization and being told dressing up like Hitler is bad. It must be because I didn't go to college with all the smart people

Because the degenderization of words is politically correct, and so is being discouraged to dress up like Hitler for Halloween...that's all.

Well I'd agree with you to some extent. The Catholics Luther was fighting, fuck them too. Their practices of indulgences were highly inappropriate.

Then of course you have a lot of other bad Catholics.

Most Catholics today though I think are doing good. They're only doing what they think is best, and unlike the fundamentalist protestant in the south, Catholics are generally pretty tolerant of everyone. So I'd say out of all the Christian denominations, Catholicism is alright. If you disagree with their teachings, simply do not follow them.

Since lately I've disagreed with a few things the Catholic church endorses, I've chosen not to follow them 100% as I used to. But that doesn't mean I'm going to be like the Anglicans and create my own new organized religion that suits me. I'll just be personally spiritual.
