I was always afraid that my embedded systems class was going stab me in the back when I wasn't looking, and then it seemed to be too tame for that to happen... Now I think it just did ( Read more... )

You know... it is a little too tempting to basically hand P1 to my group and say, "Here... port this; I need to go do OS." I think porting the system would be almost as hard as writing it from scratch, though, because architecture differences. I'm not sure I'd want to subject them to that...

ARM and x86 are totally the same, what are you worried about?

Well...

Before I read the spec and thought I'd have to do keyboard stuff, too... That part might be able to benefit from a bit of porting.
On the other hand, the timer interrupt? About all you can port is the callback.
