Thanks to Paige O'Day, I learned that today is both the birthday of James Joyce and also the 88th anniversary of the publication of Ulysses. Bloomsday is celebrated on June 16, the anniversary of Joyce's first outing with the true love of his life, Nora Barnacle, in 1904. All of the events in Ulysses took place on June 16, 1904
