Heart and Soul, by Maeve Binchy
Maeve recycles characters from her old books -
Night of Rain and Stars, Whitethorn Woods, Scarlet Feather, Quentins / Tara Road, Evening Class -
in this interesting and heartwarming (pardon the pun) frame story about a heart clinic in Dublin.

Don't give up on it. I go through periods like that and then times when the books just zip by. I know when I come home from New York I will be useless to a book for months. Then when I go on vacation with my family, I will bored senseless and read a couple of books during that time.
I use my insomnia as a took and plug audiobooks into my iPod so someone can read to me while I lay in bed for hours trying to fall asleep. The next day, I just pick up where I last remembered hearing the storyline.
If you don't make 50, though, you should still be proud of yourself, as you always tackle important and / or difficult books.

You attend concerts, you have family outings and day trips, you critically listen to a lot of music, you loyally follow sports teams, and you entertain friends.
If I had a life to speak of, I wouldn't get so much reading done! :)
