Newbery Medal and Honor Books

Well, last year was one in which I read scantily but listened widely. I finished with 81 books - 21 to you audiobook snobs.

So, over the last 11 years (!) that I've done this challenge, I average 24.5 books (if you don't count audio) and 58 books if you do.

I still have an obscene number of books that I started and haven't finished yet, and I have an even more obscene purchased-to-read ratio. I buy WAY more books than I read, and I read WAY more borrowed books than ones I actually spend money for. I need to find a way to fix that.

While it lasts, I shall enjoy this ability to complete books I have to put eye to word to read (currently reading The Hobbit for the first time in like 7 attempts, but was unable to follow along in audio and MUST put eye to type to complete - I'm more than halfway finished, so *fingers crossed*).

I started a series (accidentally) that I didn't get to complete and then wandered away from, so I will try to wrap that up. I have one series that I am waiting for the final book to be written so I can finish it, and I have four more series that I have started, own the books for, and haven't yet gotten my skates on to complete. I always say "no more series!" but I keep getting entangled in them.

And then there are those two books that a friend lent me thinking I would enjoy them that I have to read and return. UGH.

I'd like to do the Broward Library "BIG READ" monthly thingy, where they encourage the county to read and discuss and collectively enjoy one book a month - mostly because this month it's To Kill A Mockingbird - and possibly do the Bloomsday reading of Ulysses. Yeah, right.

Mostly, I just want to ENJOY reading!

Like always, I am going to post my book list here, keep it in Memories, and update as necessary. I'd like to finish these half-completed challenges, perhaps?
"What's in a Name" Challenge 2008
"What's in a Name 2" Challenge 2010
"At least 5 more of these books" Challenge 2008 (I actually completed the "5 more" but now I want to read them all.)

Without further ado, I give to you, my:
