This is lovely, thank you. It blends right into canon perfectly. There's lots of descriptions that call up different strong senses making scenes very memorable. Tom's character is spot on. It was a treat to read :)

I was aiming at canon :) We know so little about Tom (or at least I would like to know more *snorts*) that covering all those 'blank spots' from his youth is as pleasurable for me as AU or 'what if' scenarios. I hope JKR will give us another glimpse at Tom's past.

Wow. Stumbled across this following a link from somewhere, and I'm super glad I did. Very well written, and you captured Tom marvelously. I was disappointed when I came to the end of it, despite the fact you ended it wonderfully (if that makes sense). Thank you for writing such a beautiful story!

Tom's character fascinates me (all those possibilities and missed chances in canon, to say nothing of the fandom version of him) so it was really a joy ride to write it :)
