John...

The Chilis last night were amazing. Enjoyed them so much more than on Saturday, mainly because the place I had was an uncountable number of times better. Right at the front - well, I did have one girl in front of me, but she was literally a foot or so shorter than me, so I thought it would be cruel to push her out of the way.

I love John so much. My God. There are actually not words in the English language to describe that man. He is just...
I don't need to tell you that he played astoundingly - he looked like he was really enjoying himself, although he did have a few problems with one of his guitars, so he looked a bit cross with Dave (for those of you who don't know, Dave Lee is John's guitar tech).

I was wearing my amazingly wonderful t-shirt with 'John Frusciante "The man is a genius" written on it, and I am 98% sure he saw it - he squinted at me and then grinned at any rate, although from the angle he would only have been able to see the 'John Frusciante' part of it.

He sang two solo songs, 'Walking in the Sand' and 'Maybe'. Yay. I was the only one singing along in the part of the pit where I was standing. I screamed and cheered and sang so much, then about 3/4 of the way through my voice just snapped. Didn't make so much noise after that.

The people around me who had cleverly decided to stand on John's side were also cheering for him - there were a guy behind me who kept yelling 'I love you John!'. Whenever the Chilis weren't playing, I screamed 'John!' and people around me joined in - John heard and grinned. I was going to find a picture of John's wonderful smile, but explorer just crashed and I lost all my windows, so I can't be bothered to look again.

I met some BBSers before hand, who were all lovely. Sally was there, and she showed me some amazing pictures of John from the Paris gig. We talked about John a lot which was fun, made a change too, it's lovely to meet people who feel the same way.

I actually feel, and it feels wrong to say so, really, really depressed. I didn't go to the Chilis for them really, only to see John, and the thought of not seeing him play again for years, let alone his solo stuff, is just too awful. He is so incredible. And he's playing in LA again this August. Why not England?? I would love to go, but unfortunately when taking a tentative look a flights, found that it would cost around £700-£900. Not to mention somewhere to stay. Never mind (ok, so that's the wrong thing to say).

I wonder if anyone will read this. Somehow I doubt it.
