2 Rides

[Well, look who didn't leave Team Rocket after all? With them not being able to hide it anymore, Kia's in his uniform in Goldenrod while a recently-hatched Houndor and Growlithe play fight nearby.]Does this place have a soccer team or any other sports to watch? I really miss going to games or listening to them on the radio. And there's plenty of ( Read more... )

Now that you mention it... I didn't see anything sports-related around here. [And that sounds weird...]

Living without sports to watch is pretty damn boring.

I didn't watch many sports events back home, but it must be thought for people like you who are more used to it.

Maybe people here think the Pokémon are enough distraction, so that's why they never established any kind of sport? [At least it seems like it.]

Maybe. But I dunno why they don't get bored of watching animals compete all the time.

Eh... you have a point. I mean, for people who just arrive all this might be really exciting, but if you stay for long the novelty starts to wear off... [Not that Jesus will ever get tired of this thing, but he understands Kia's views on that.]

Were there any particular sports you liked best back home? Or did you like them all?

I liked watching soccer and racing people on my motorcycle. The Americans I saw around Berlin were obsessed with baseball but I never saw the big deal about it.

Oh? You took part in motorcycle races? You are probably a pretty skilled rider than. [Leaving a bike on Jesus hands is pretty much asking for a disaster.]

I was living in Japan before ending up here, but I didn't really, hm, catch up with the sports there all that much. [Too busy seeing the sights and visiting theme parks.]

I'm from Berlin. Japan's...a bit of a wreck where I'm from.

Is that so? That's disappointing. It has so much to offer back in my homeworld...

How it happened anyway?

Less than 20 years ago, the US dropped a couple of atomic bombs on it.

Ugh... That's a really terrible thing. [And it's hard to believe Kia is saying that as if it's nothing.

And as tempted as he is to ask the reason why, he doesn't. He doesn't want to bother the other man with that.]

I just hope we don't come from the same world, and you are from the future.

[Well, when Kia's putting on a act like most of his Gear stuff is, he's good at acting calm. Seeing him be emotional will take some other moment.]

Yeah...but that whole war was full of terrible things.

I'm from the past to most people here.

I can imagine it wasn't a 'pretty' sight. [He witnessed enough wars to know how that goes.]

The past you say? From what year are you from then?

Ah, I'm from 2008.

You come from the Cold War era then... That explains it.

I can't say I've heard it called that before.
