Only Emma would send Scott a Siamese cat (allowed in the pilot's seat...gasp!!!!). Poor Darwin.

Though that last line makes me think Jean comes out on top of Lola in a cat fight.

Thanks! Don't worry -- Darwin's not particularly upset, not matter what Jean says. Deep in his puppy heart, he's convinced that everyone wants to play with him, and it's his job as the Best Beagle Ever to let them know that. And figure out what they want to play. So he'll just keep taking toys to Lola (and getting sneered at) and trying to make her crack.

I laughed.

Then I laughed some more.

And then I got to this -

“Well, I’m not so sure about that,” I say bitterly. “Think about it. Have we ever seen Emma Frost and that cat in the same place at the same time? No. Do we know that people can develop secondary mutations that let them change their shape? Yes. Just think about it, Warren!”

- and fell out of my chair, laughing.

I love Lola! What a brilliant piece of flirtation that was, on Emma's part. It makes much sense that Scott would get on well with a cat, somehow.

Thanks! I knew Siamese were very vocal, but then I learned that they tend to be "one-person" cats, so making Lola one was a lock. I adore your icon, by the way! Is that your kitty?

Yes! That's Baggins - he's a tonkinese, but he's all slender and long-nosed like a siamese.

They really do bond with one person - Baggins to me, and Chewbacca to lilacsigil You had that perfectly - I thought you must have had one yourself.

Nah, I've had kitties since I was a little girl, but they've always been "mutts," though they would probably describe themselves as "gods." I wanted to make Lola a Siamese because I knew they were very vocal, then when I researched them I found out they were "one-person" cats, so it fit well with what I wanted to do. Your kitties are just adorable -- what an icon! -- and Baggins is a wonderful cat name! *snuggles Baggins and Chewbacca, who are doubtless horrified and flee back to their people*
