the end is near!!!

did i mention that i have, after today, ONE DAY of student teaching left? i did, i bet, but here i am mentioning it again. i'm so thrilled i can't see straight! i've realllllly enjoyed it, FAR more than i EVER expected to do.

but public schools depress me: worker training camps where the food lacks nutrition and the classes lack fascination. these are the leaders of tomorrow? i can only hope i planted some ideas that grow. or maybe i'd better hope that the seeds i cast didn't fall on barren ground, scorched by indifference and the pigeonholing of young minds.

in news of "what now" - it's a little questionable, though it could be great. two of the GED teachers are quitting - but we also don't know if the grants that pay them will be renewed, won't know for a month. so, if they ARE renewed, i will MOST likely have their hours. together with the intake position that i still have, i could cover basic needs. not roll in dough, but get by AND have time to write my OWN grants to support wellsprings work.

which should be heating up: according to the DNR, they plan to log "our" portion of state forest in about three years. and your bitch mitch plans to up the volume of that logging - whereas i think that there are other, more renewable, more lucrative-for-the-state means of producing income from protected forests than cutting them down. the only people who make ANY money off state forest logging is the the logging companies - not even the state! can you say special interests lobby?!!

and, if you go to the link for The National Trust, turn it down if you're at work - one of the mp3s starts playing automatically.

ah, the bell rang - soon my life will not be a pavlovian story, but for now i must jump when the bell rings. how high, principal parsley, how high???
