Just because

I have currently been going through what I'm calling a Liar Liar phase - like the movie. I answer everyone with complete honesty. It's rather bizarre. In that vein, I responded to the following meme in someone else's journal. So: Dare you ( Read more... )

Hmm... Okay. I'll bite. No, not like that. :P
Three questions... these will be bizarre/odd/pointless.
What pairing have you never read but really would like to? Or, alternatively, what pairing have you never read done well? I guess the converse of this would be, what pairings are you just sick of, if any? (or which need to be revitalized to hold your interest?)
Most memorable song ever? That question is a little vague... I don't know what I mean by it. Take from it what you will.
What is the REAL answer to life, the universe, and everything? Um. Scratch that. Maybe... Hrmm... I don't know of another question. Okay, you can answer that one if you want. :P
Oh, and I might put this up in my journal. But my flist is nuts. They would ask me skeery questions. Also, I swear I already did this meme at some point. *thinks*

1. I will have you know that that question is actually four questions. But since it's you I will oblige. a) It's not a pairing and it would be very odd in a pairing, but I think there should be more stories about/with appearances by Peeves. He is one of the most entertaining characters. I was disappointed when he never showed up in the movies. b) I have never read anything with the squid that was done well. Yes, now I am mocking you. c) I'm sick of Harry/Hermione and badly done H/D. d) See above - the first I probably wouldn't read much of anyway, and the last is so prolific that is becomes harder and harder to sift the wheat from the chaff ( ... )

1. a) Peeves would be interesting. I think a lot of the entertaining-but-not-fanon!hot characters don't show up too much in fic. I mean, Hagrid usually threw in a comical line or two, but no one wants the big hairy giant mucking up their h/d pretty. b) Oi! The squid is love. Don't knock it. *pouts* c) Agreed. Well, there are, um, about three paragraphs of Harry/Hermione in my Nevillosity fic. *shifts* What about Harry/Draco/supah-hot-door? :P d) I know what you mean. I really haven't read much h/d that doesn't come from one or two people on my flist. Maybe I'm just getting lazy. I know that there's all those chaptered fics I'm supposed to read. :-\
2. Oh wow. That sounds really cool. You know, I actually don't know if I even remember exactly what hammered dulcimer should sound like... *fails*
3. That was cheap. :P

1. EVERYWHERE. I was meant to be a world traveler. I was built to wander, born to be a gypsy. I was sprinkled with meander and dipped in wanderlust..... and ended up here. There is so much to see and experience. So much beauty and history and random oddness. It would take me 20 lifetimes, but if I had the means and the time I would see it all. I love to get in a car, on a plane, take to my feet, whatever, and just go. No destination in mind other than someplace new. I should have been an explorer, but I content myself with my occasional wanderings ( ... )

Right, I'm back home again for the nonce, so...

1. Why on earth do you write/desire to write fanfics involving characters created by people whom you've never met nor even interacted with online? Note careful wording of the previous sentence :P

2. How do you feel about the current state - overall - of American culture and the American nation, specifically (if possible!) excluding His Unroyal Lowness Mad King George?

3. Why don't you come over for a cuppa? The kettle's on!

p.s. you mean there really are people who *don't* do honesty? I mean, sure, there are times when silence, evasiveness or er um careful wording/incomplete information are the wisest course of answer-action, but still...oh, and I don't consider creating a false RL persona and living under it for privacy's sake to be dishonest. That ain't lying, it's performance art :P

1. If that was supposed to be a subtle hint I suggest that you check your dictionary for the meaning of said adjective. I told you before, I toy with the unworthy. Truth? I'm a coward. You would have me play with those that breathe? With the gifted? With the superhumans? I shudder, for I could in no way do them justice. I shall ponder. As to why I write the other? Mostly I don't anymore. It was fun. The creator of the characters will never read my scribbles and if she did would find them not the best but not nearly the worst of the innumerable bastardizations. 1. ~grins~

2. Erm, awesome, dude? A beautiful and beautifully-considered answer. Thank you!

3. Bugger. Ratbags. Smeg. Frak. Frell. Poot. Et cetera! (that's for the no-show, and for the ankle, but obviously not for the threat/promise)

3a. My YM crashed a few minutes ago. Bad YM! No biscuit!

p.s. I just read your answer to #2 to my oh so practical SO. He said, "Why would she bother to write HP fanfic when she writes truth so beautifully?"

So there.
