i figure it's a good time to update because it's 2:30 in the morning.
these past few days have been the most random ever. epsecially when it comes to skating. i'll try to do a brief recap for those who are so inclined:
saturday morning when i got off work i decided to play guitar at the beach. i went home, got my guitar and headed down to the boardwalk. i got to about 34th when my car overheated. i pulled over, put some water in the radiator from a 7-11 faucet and skated with my guitar down to the hilton while i waited for it to cool off. I played for about 30min before a russian from harrisonburg came up and began a conversation. he's intersted in buying a skateboard off me. i tried demonstrating my board's flexibility and strength, even without fiberglass, and broke it. weird. we talked till about 5am, when he left to go sleep on the beach. about 15min later 2 black couples came up from the beach and asked me to play them a love song. i played 'recently' and one man said i should really look into playing a local resteraunts. ya, whatever. about 30min later, a white couple came up and started talking to me. their roomates started getting into it and had thus kicked them out of their hotel room. from their conversation i picked up on the fact that the girl in the room had a fiance who was not the man in the hotel room. bummer. the chick left to go be angry by the room and the guy stood there for another 5-10 to talk to me. he said that both chicks wanted to get with that guy, and that he was left there nothing. again, bummer. been there, done that. i played for about 30more minutes until sunrise, headed to my car and went home. i dropped the car off at a mechanic and awoke around 4pm to a fixed car. seems the radiator cap's seal had gone.
again saturday night with the budds".saturday night we (kb, jon, chris and i) skated the boardwalk again, this time, without my guitar. we managed to skate the trolley lane all teh way from 1st to 43rd without getting stopped by cops. a motorcycle cop even passed us in the lane and didnt say anything. sometimes, they arent that bad. chris fell after running into some grass and decided not to skate greatneck when we got there. we met a kid named Rob from Cox who was longboarding up at 7-11 when we got slurpees. he passed us at the hill, so we stopped him and invited him down with us. nice enough kid, hope i see him again sometime. at one point, a woman pulled up the light on broadbay and told us that we needed to 'get our butts home' because our 'mom's had just called'. she was actually pretty good looking and only looked to be somewhat in her 30's. chris had the balls to ask where her husband was. i'm not sure what her answer was. next time we skate, we're stopping by her house and seeing if she'll invite us in. she was rather flirtacious. rob and i got the feeling she was a wee bit drunk. we headed home about 30min later.
our skate footage is almost done. we've got 2 hours of skate film spanning from before christmas to today. chances are jon and i will get stuck editing, cropping and producing. it should be good stuff when it all comes together.
anyway, that's a sum up of the past two days. i guess it's official enough that i can say bekah and kb got back together. it took a bit of coercing on kb's part thanks to yours truly, but i think it's for the best. for them i mean. he'll get the summer he wanted. as for me, i've got to turn the matchmaker skills on myself and set me up with a decent girl. preferably one without mental problems. but as we all know, that can be tricky.
anyway, this should keep me up to date for the next week or so. until then,
"Power corrputs. And absolute power corrupts absolutely.
So just relax, Helen Boyle told me, and just enjoy the ride.
She said 'Even absolute corruption has it's perks.'"
