Am I the only one hoping that Minnick is Arizona's new love bunny and not the undercover crazy Murphy. She seems to be an intelligent, no nonsence person who took charge without needing to raise her voice and has a boat load of self conferdence and I think that's just what Arizona needs, someone to challenge and push her plus I'm interested in

I can definitely see the similarities, not enough to warrant any response from me but I can understand how you had to do a double take at first. The elevator scene too I didn't really think about until later on. Yes in a way that could be a nudge, but at the same time, the majority of everything happens in the hospital, there's only so many places this could occur. But if anything that would look somewhat disrespectful to calzona fans to have that be Minnick and Arizona's first scene. I don't know, but I definitely think there's more to her than what we got in this episode and I hope they explore more, if there's even enough time for that lol.

Quirky/goofy Arizona is always my favorite, and I really want more of that. Jcap did say they were going to go back to classic Arizona moments that would remind people of when she first arrived, and I really hope they continue on with this.

In terms of disrespect though, they did that the whole last season by basically reworking all the important parts of the Calzona storyline with Callie and Penny, i.e. Love of her life, a car crash occurring with a pregnant lady and finally with Penny getting the grant but this time having Callie actually go with her. I think Minnick is more like Callie back when she first arrived in Grey's and was involved with George but we'll just have to wait and see.

Callie was fronting when she was with George and I wasn't a major fan, though I did like her going school yard on Mer. I do want the fun back into the on call rooms though, sneaking about for some light hearted mattress aerobics.

I read that they did calzona part deux with the bad penny, I haven't watched since they wrote Arizona as a cheat. I'm risking it again as I'm hoping they've reset Arizona back to her pink bubble, tiny humans and fairy dust IV's self. my fingers are crossed so tight they've gone white because I love Arizona as a character and she's one of the few main regulars who has no connection to Mer. I worked it out the other day that over half of the cast is on Grey's family tree and thats just not right.

I also thought the actress looked a bit like Sara Ramirez.

I liked how Eliza referred to herself as "an agent of change". I'll like her to be that for Arizona.

I noticed that Arizona was wearing new shoes, not the black, heavy boot-like shoes she wore for the last few seasons. Not quite roller-sneaks, but I'd like to think the splash of color from her footwear is an indication of a fun, goofy Arizona to come.

Good eyes for noticing the shoes, I'll have to go back and have a look. I'm getting back into watching after giving up viewing, fed up being played like a puppet on a string about Arizona and Callie. But now that Sara cut the strings I'm giving them another chance to see how they treat Arizona. So far I have hope.

They need a change and a major shake up, everyone stuck in a rut and Arizona needs a resident to take under her wing, she should have people knocking down her door to learn from her.

Minnick is on the guest list for the mid season finale so I'll have my fingers crossed for some interaction between them but I get the feeling it would be a few crumbs at best, what with the 'chief ' being given his pink slip from his teaching boss job, Alex will he or wont he be jail bait, Amelia and Owen baby drama (who given a damn), Bailey's guilt (she needs a mini me to give her the backup she gave Webber, who is the chief resident anyway?) and there's bound to be Mer front and centre.

I can see why people might think a slight resemblance i never really thought so only now that i read this post lol and have gone back and looked at her again but it's not really a thing or anything that should warrant a response from anybody.

And as for the Elevator scene...Meh...Arizona had a scene with Lauren in the Elevator, Callie had one with Penny. Means nothing to me, a lot of 'love' scenes start that way on Grey's, in the Elevator and recreating or giving subtle nudges to Calzona fans with Arizona/Eliza isn't going to help make any remaining Calzona fans be happy,

Those that want and believe Calzona will somehow still work despite Sara not being on the show anymore will never give up hope and will never accept Arizona with anyone no matter how many similarities they give.

This should hopefully be a fun journey for Arizona but I don't see it turning into anything serious. Fun and Flirty isn't serious but I'll take it for what it is
