Soul Eater AU Musings
So, inspired by a YnM fic I found, I want to rewrite W in the Soul Eater universe. Here's my thoughts and plans so far.
Since I'm assuming people looking at this will already know W, there will be spoilers.
Characters
Philip: "Child of Fate" and a Weapon. Partnered with Shoutaro after the latter rescues him from Museum. Born Raito Sonozaki, an incident when he was a child resulted in him being merged with the Demon Tool "Gaia Library". He has no memories of his past.
Shoutaro Hidari: An orphan taken in by Soukichi Narumi and a Meister. Partnered with Philip after he's rescued from Museum.
Soukichi Narumi: A gun-type Death Scythe who took in orphaned Shoutaro Hidari as a child. He was an acquaintance of Shroud's, and rescued Philip at her urging. He gave Philip his name, but died in the rescue.
Akiko Narumi: Soukichi Narumi's daughter, and a Meister. She comes to DWMA seeking knowledge on what happened to her father. She becomes partnered with Ryu Terui
Ryu Terui: A Weapon who came to DWMA after Museum arranged the deaths of his family, seeking revenge. Partnered with Akiko Narumi.
Shroud: A witch formerly associated with Museum and Raito's biological mother, she left Museum after the incident with Raito. She created the purified Demon Tools that Philip uses to change his weapon form to that which best suits his Meister.
Museum: An organization of witches led by the Sonozaki family. They manufacture the Demon Tools "Gaia Memories", which corrupt human souls.
Artifacts/Items
Gaia Library: A powerful Demon Tool, it houses a vast amount of knowledge. A mysterious incident when Raito was a child resulted in his becoming merged with it, though he can only access its information in Weapon form.
Gaia Memories: Demon Tools created by Museum (with Raito's help, at first). These are small devices vaguely USB shaped that corrupt human souls. They are very addicting, and after enough exposure/use, a human soul is corrupted past the point of recovery.
Philip's Weapon Forms
Cyclone/Heat/Luna: Cyclone, Heat, and Luna give Philip various elemental attacks. Cyclone and Heat are wind and fire, respectively, and Luna is illusions.
Joker: Joker is a wild-card form. Philip does not have a true weapon form in this mode, but manifests as metal bracers worn on Shoutaro's wrists. Shoutaro fights using hand-to-hand combat while Philip is in this form.
Metal/Trigger: Metal and Trigger are a shaft and gun, respectively.
Fang: Fang is unique, in that it is a Demon Tool used by Philip. It was created by Shroud for the express purpose of protecting Philip, and has limited sentience, appearing in the form of a small dinosaur. When Philip uses it, it changes its shape into a blade, and [temporarily] absorbs the soul of Philip's partner. However, it deeply affects Philip, and he is unable to control it, instead going into a dangerous berserker mode. Shoutaro is eventually able to control Fang from within, allowing them to fight effectively. However, as Philip is physically much weaker than Shoutaro, he cannot fight this way for extended periods.
