Reason enough for me

I'm proud to be labelled a "Christian", but I would like to think that I'm employable because I do a good job and not because of my faith.

Faith should not be used as a wedge to divide.

    I think your absolutely right. A good job should be absolutely enough. Personally, I feel like I could self-identify as a Christian, but it's become too sticky for me. My ideas about religion are fluid. When politicians identify themselves as Christian, there's a real fear for me that they only have one view, one outlook, and bypass all judgement.

    My daughter goes to a Catholic school and I'm not Catholic. Parents received literature from the church imploring us to seek the life vote this election. I get it, but I really don't. I don't want to have an abortion debate but black or white, red or blue, Democrat or Republican, life or murder; it's just not that simple. There's a lot of grey and we have set ourselves up to believe that they're always two choices and one outcome. That's unfortunate and untrue. We spend our lives compromising, making decisions we thought we'd never have to, bridging the divide, and finding strength when we thought we had run out. This is all part of that grey.
