You... Just. YOU. The bullet point review is now my new favorite kind of review to get.

I think Dean would like your hard nog very much. Also can we talk about how my dad got me and my sister a membership to the Red Sox Kid Nation when we were probably too old to be in the Red Sox Kid Nation? Also it's probably pretty obvious by now that I'm a film/theater nerd (no, film and theater are not things I study in college at all. But yes. Yes they are). Also bb!Sam. I miss him too.

Dean Sans Spleen. It's gonna be a thing.

Red Sox Kid Nation oh god in fifth grade I had a notebook just devoted to baseball I knew everyone's stats

God that was when everyone knew I liked girls wasn't it?

Your fic is excellent and you and Dean have earned some queernog, but queernog is disgusting unless you are desperate for sugar and alcohol so let's just give it to Dean.

I'm desperate for both those things, just usually not together.

I just finished antibiotics for a sinus infection (it was gross), so I could totally go for some nog that is queer. Dean needs it more than I do, though.

This. Here. Is some masterfully wonderful shit. The setting is absolutely gorgeous, and the details (the comforter, the bottle washed up on the beach, random bucket in a closet) make it feel so real. I *love* the way the fic jumps back and forth without really sticking to any rigid progression; it's like hearing the rhythm of the tide throughout the whole story (apologies for overanalysis). And ggahgh, I love this kind of plot (especially for a S3 AU, which is something I didn't know would work so heartbreakingly well), and you've totally nailed, like, the image in my mind of what a perfect version of that plot should be. *scraps vague and convoluted Platonic forms metaphor*

Plus, you've got an amazing Sam and lovely banter ("what part of 'here comes the freaking airplane' does your mouth not understand?" might win the prize for my favorite line), and I genuinely got a bit emotional over the course of the whole thing, which is either a sign that I'm up too late and still not over three weeks of flus and colds, or a sign that you ( ... )

Every time, man. Every time I tell myself, "I'm gonna leave a normal, civilized comment like everyone else that doesn't take ten minutes to read through and doesn't devolve into some kind of bizarre textual gargling."

Oh well. I liked this very much. ♥

♥♡♥♡♥♡♥♡♥ - all the different kinds of hearts. Yes. So glad you liked it. :)

Sorry you haven't been feeling so hot lately! This flu season's a doozy. FLUIDS.

Oh rheumatic fever, you are usually a thing younger people get but I gave you to Dean because I'm diabolical.

Looooove this.
(I'm so lame. Other people's comments are like, "Here are the reasons for the love," and I am like, "I think I can fudge it with a whole lotta o's.")
But I did love it. Truth.

I accept all forms of love!! Reasons are not required. Shh, just come.

I just imagine each of those "o"s as a compact ball of super-condensed superlove. Jesus, I'm tired. :P

I am immensely glad that you loved it. :)

Beautifully written. I've recently returned to a coastline that was much missed and near and dear to my heart, so the setting is TO DIE FOR (any and all potential puns unintended, :P). Loved the chronological inversion, as well. Okay, weird thing to say, I know, but these things are also near and dear to my heart, and I loved what it did for the progression of this moment for Sam and Dean. Great job!

Aw hooray!! I'm so glad it resonated with you!

And no, it doesn't sound weird at all! I based a lot of what I wrote on the atmosphere at my family's own beach house at which I spent many many vacations as a child (it's the only house that's stayed in our family as long as I've been alive), so it's such a great compliment that someone else drew sentimental connections to the writing.

Thanks for reading! :D

Oh my you got some lovely in depth comments. All I can add is that I loved the atmoshpere of this fic. That any time I can have me some caring Sam I am happy. Sick snarky Dean is a given.
