So Andrew Breitbart passed away...

I can't help but to notice that, when a super prominent lib dies, we on the right generally offer condolences and hopes that they rest in peace. By way of contrast, when a big name on the right dies, those who opposed them are simply vicious in eulogizing them ( Read more... )

What are you talking about? Liberals are the most open minded people ever, as long as you don't use fact based arguments, agree with everything they say, believe that all social issues, as well as any personal decisions are subject to the United States Government and your bank account is for free use of everyone.

Also your opinion is invalid unless you have a PhD in Underwater Basket Weaving.

And for the record, the last time someone big died on the left that I even bothered to make a comment about, it was big ol' Teddy K. And my comments were not nice :P

Yeah.

For me, I was raised by my dad to keep my gorram mouth shut if I have nothing nice to say about a person...

We're definitely not alone. In fact, we're the majority. It's just the other ones are LOUDER.

Liberals expect everyone else to be tolerant of their ideas, not the other way around.

Though I think there are vicious elements to both sides of the political spectrum. I certainly saw bad comments when Ted Kennedy died. It's just a question of which voices are loudest on certain topics.

Sooth. Nothing makes more annoyed (and darkly amused) when I see someone first demand tolerance for their views and then follow up by being utterly intolerant toward dissenting views.

Though I think there are vicious elements to both sides of the political spectrum.

Oh, I certainly agree with that, but the really vicious ones on the right are quite often panned by the normal members of our side, whereas it seems that the inverse is true for on the left. But I'm biased against them so its possible (and in fact, probable) that my general disdain toward that political spectrum affects my perception of them.

To be honest, I'd never heard of him (or if I had, the name didn't stick in my mind) before the news articles about his death a few days ago, which is the main reason why I said nothing... Still, it's sad that he died so young.
