New Bleach chapter out
Well, I'll admit, I'm fascinated. This new arc is starting off with a bang.
- I like this new Ichigo. He's actually thinking in fights, which is nice - the long-ago Ichigo wouldn't have noticed the Quincy-arrancar connection, much less realized he was being baited into using his bankai. So good for you, Ichigo. Also, THAT COVER:
That hood's a nod to Shirosaki, right? Though it certainly looks different.... God, I miss Shirosaki.
- It's funny because a lot of people in fandom were snarking last week about how shitty the security is in the Gotei 13 if people could just walk in and confront Yamamoto. So I find it amusing that Yamamoto himself sees fit to address the issue:
- And oddly enough, this scene was what made the realization that this was the final arc hit home for me:
I know Sasakibe's kind of a nobody; he's always been Yamamoto's constantly-loyal fukutaichou. But that's exactly the point - he's always been there. Now, I don't know if he's dead of course - the "Vandenreich" (hell of a name) guys implied that he is, but really, who knows? Still...in this arc, if people die? It's likely that they're going to stay dead. You know? This is the final arc. Jesus, can you imagine?
On the bright side, this is going to be a hell of a final arc, I think.
