New Bleach chapter out.

...I didn't think I cared that much about Yamamoto or Sasakibe, but I'll be damned if this chapter didn't choke me up a little.

Thoughts. )

yay, chapter review! yeah, i got a little choked up too. now that i see background story on Yama-Jii i'm not so sure i want him to die. like, at all. he deserves to avenge Choujiro's death so i hope he is allowed that as a parting gift! him dying is almost a given, now, at least to me.

wonder when we will be going back to Hueco Mundo as well and i'm pining for Grimmjow or Ulquiorra also. i was hoping we'd get to see Ichigo finally break free from that black orb he's being held captive in but i feel a lot less anxious now about Byakuya, Rukia and Renji--they're alive at least, must be, and that's enough for me. bringing Grimm and/or Ulquiora in will probably give us a bit of backstory on the events that lead to Hueco Mundo being invaded and taken over. i hope we get to know who else is still alive from the espada.

i've been wondering, throughout all this, where Ishida stands and if he will be made to pick a side...

I think "parting gift" is a good way to put it - if he dies now, he can be at peace knowing he did what needed to be done. That said, yeah, I'm a bigger Yama-jii fan now than before. But it does seem like goodbye, doesn't it? I can't imagine Yamamoto having anyone but Sasakibe for a vice-captain ( ... )

that's exactly what i thought as soon the recent turn of events left clear that Yama-Jii would be dying. if you think about it, even though Yama-Jii has won good fights in the manga, none of them are as significant as this one would be if he did win it. i really don't want him to die now but it's a strong turnover for the series (just like in Naruto, Sasuke leaving the village was a strong turnover) so, let's see what happens but all i can say is that whereas i cared very little about Yama-Jii before, now i don't know how i will bear his death ( ... )

I've totally no idea what Kubo's planning but whatever it is, he's done some really good planning, like this chapter for instance. The flashback was really well done, though it was kinda weird seeing both Yamamoto and Sasakibe that young. XD

The suspended reveal has drained me of the anticipation too but I'm sure Kubo's doing it deliberately and has some sort of plan behind it... Given that this arc is supposed to be dark (and it has been), this is one bright spot and things might take another turn for the worse before anything else more significant happens. I would be looking forward to Unohana doing something though and of course Shirosaki when he appears.

I want Urahara to take more part in the fight too. It seems like in this last arc we are going to be able to see everyone at their full power so I can't wait to see Urahara's Bankai, Unohana's Bankai, Yourichi's zanpakuto's power and the Viazards might make a cameo (finally!). I guess so many of the good guys struggling so hard is good to bring out everyone's full power at last!

Oh. My. God.
Always knew Kenpachi was awesome... he DID give them hell! *cheers*
I hope he stands a chance though...
But Yama-jii... underestimated him badly it seems. He's BADASS! That's what I call overkill!
