New Bleach chapter out.
Devoted entirely to Yama-jii's bankai!
Interesting, for a few reasons: Yama-jii's bankai does seem to resemble Ichigo's, inasmuch as the power is compressed (and, apparently, invisible to the naked eye). I did find it curious that it also affects (and seems to draw from) Seireitei itself - it sucks up all the water, Hitsugaya can't use his bankai, and it dries out the air. I wonder how much damage will be done to Seireitei itself under such circumstances?
We get brief glimpses of the other captains here. Some of them seem in good shape, all things considered; Shunsui doesn't look well, though. But I was happy to see some of the others still standing. I do wonder why Unohana seems to be away from everything? The fact that she isn't on the battlefield healing seems....telling, to me. Maybe she knows it isn't over yet?
We're getting an awful lot of buildup on this, which makes me continue to think this is Yama-jii's last stand - so I can't complain about him having some chapters devoted to him. I can't really see how it could end any other way, unless he simply makes them retreat somehow, because I can't believe Juha Bach will die yet when he hasn't even met Ichigo. Plus, Juha seems to have seen Yamamoto's bankai 1000 years ago, which....if he's seen it and survived it once, I don't think he can be underestimated.
