Summary: Yamada Ryosuke a 18-years old guy returns to a village where he used to live when he was a kid to find out the point of his odd dreams. Something must happened to him before, something what he doesn't remember.
There he meets his little mysterious bestfriend in the past, Chinen Yuri.
On the next morning Yamda walked down the stairs searching for a little boy he met yesterday. He didn't find him, not his mother or anybody else. He returned to the room where he was and noticed a paper on the table and it said;
Ohayou Ryo-chan! I and my mother left for shopping. You slep so peacefully, I didn't want to wake up you. We'll be home around 12 o'clock, please wait for us and don't go outside yet.
With love Chinen.
Yamada checked his watch and it was only 10:14. Althought Chinen asked him not to go outside yet, he didn't obey. He was too curious to get to know about the village and as soon as he will solve every mystery of his past then sooner he could get rid of the problems.
He went to look around by himself. He walked the sandy road. Passing old building he stopped and frowned looking at it. Slowly he walked closer to it. He felt something odd about it, touching it he felt sadness. This place doens't have anything good to remember, he thought.
''Hey you!'' He heard a voice. Yamada quickly turned around and saw a tall boy with black hair. He reminded Chinen somehow.
''I-I'm sorry. Do you live here?'' Yamada quickly asked as he pointed at the building.
''What? No!'' He laughed. ''Are you new here?'' He asked. ''Sort of...'' Yamada responded. ''Haha, boku wa Nakajima Yuto desu. Call me just Yuto.'' He introduced himself. ''Ee.'' Yamada nod.
''What is your name?'' Yuto asked as he didn't get to know latter's name. ''Ah, gomenasai. Yamada Ryosuke desu.'' Yamada bowed. ''Eeeh!? Yama-chan!?''
''Another one...?''
''Long time no see! Where have you been?'' Taller looked so happy, they must've been friends before, as well as happened with Chinen. ''I moved to Tokyo.'' Yamada answered and Yuto only nodded.
''Mind showing me around? It's long time since I've been here before...'' Yamada smiled to taller. ''Haii!!'' Yuto shouted with enthusiasm and pulled shorter.
He drag him everywhere around the village. It was really joyful for him. Village wasn't so big, it took them less than half day to tour it. On their tour Yamada met many kind people, the ones he didn't know at all and ones he didn't remember. But still it was such a big pleasure for him to meet all of them.
This happy moment took all Yamada's attention that he forgot about the little squirrel. That little boy didn't let Yamada forget about him as he relaize older boy wasn't at home. He was halfly mad and halfly worried about him. Luckily this village is really nice place and nothing couldn't happen to Yamada. The worried side of Chinen covered with annoyance ,sadness and jealousy. He went to look for older boy and saw him having fun with Yuto. In this village all the people knew each other. Chinen jumped to the boy with his sad expression.
''Yama-chan~, why you went out?'' He pouted and pulled Yamada's shirt.
''Ah, gomen ne Chinen. I was just too curious about this place.'' He smiled innocently to younger. ''I wanted to show you around...'' Smaller's pout grew bigger.
''I said that I'm sorry'' Yamada said with the same innocence. ''Sorry, guys for interrupting, but I have to go now. See you later.'' Yuto said as he waved smiling to both boys. Yamada and Chinen waved to him as well.
''I want to show you one place'' Chinen said as soon as the taller boy was out of sight. He grabbed Yamada's wrist and pulled him toward the said place. ''We toured the whole village with Yuto.'' ''Yeah, but he probably didn't take you to our place'' Chinen smiled a she continued pulling older.
They walked a long way, throught the forest they reached a hill. From that hill you could see he whole village. Yamada looked at beautiful village while Chinen was standing beside him. ''We always spend our time here when we were little, remember?'' ''Not really...'' Yamada looked down feeling guilty.

Flashback
~~~~~~~~~~
''Mou, Ryo-chan~ Where are we going?'' A little boy asked as his best friend pulled him without telling where is he taking him. ''You'll see!'' Brown haired boy answered and smaller only continued pouting.
''KIREEEI!!!'' Yuri spinned as they came on the hill. It was a noticeable place but no one ever went up there. These four little feet were the first to step there since long long time ago. The place before them seemed dead but then after they played there everything got the life. They spend their time since morning till the sundown. They looked at the sunset together before wholly leaving the place. They loved it as much as they loved their home. It became their second home.
It's been a time when Ryosuke has disappeared from Yuri's life. Though it didn't make use, Chinen still kept coming to this place. He hoped that once that boy will sneak from behind and hug him like he always did, but no matter how many times he came that boy would never come.
He looked at the sunset and then at his right side where the boy used to sit before and always gave him that his sweet smile. Year by year it made the lonely feeling more painful. ''He won't come'' People kept on telling him but deep inside his heart he knew that he will hold his hand and smile with him once again.
~End of flashback~
Yamada enjoyed the wind that was blowing his hair. He didn't know why but he wanted and he did grab smallers hand. Chinen trembed a bit as he was surprised by older's sudden grab. Yamada then looked at smaller and noticed the tears on his face. His chest felt a horrible pain as he wiped those tears away.
''What is it?'' He asked holding his face. Chinen couldn't say a word as he stood there. If he would say a word he would probably end up crying even more. The pain in his throat felt awful as he held his tears. Yamada sighed and pulled him into a warm hug. Smaller grabbed his shirt and squeezed it as he cried his sadness away. Now Yamada didn't see his face so he could do it a little easier than when he looks at him.
Yamada stroked smallers back to calm him. He didn't want him to cry, it's the last thing he would wish to him. All of a sudden a melody started ringing in his head, and he didn't know why. He was sure he heard it before bt couldn't remember. Then he started to hum it. Chinen recognized the melody. It was a special melody for him because Ryosuke create it by himself. He always would hum it if smaller felt sad for some reason.
Little by little Chinen calmed down, no more tears were escaping his eyes as he smiling listened to the melody older hummed in his embrace. As the melody ended Ryosuke release his hug and looked at Chinen's happy expression.
''You remembered it, didn't you'' He smiled brightly. ''Un.'' Yamada nodded, though it was half a lie. He didn't remember it, it just automatically popped in his head but he didn't want to tell the actual truth, he didn't want to make smaller cry again because of his stupidity. He stroked the happy boy and sat on the ground followed by Chinen, but he sat not on the ground but on older's lap hugging the boy. Yamada couldn't do anthing else than smile and hug him back.
Together, once again they looked at the sunset that they used to watch before. The warm feeling both of them felt was just too amazing and great. Yamada tighter the hug around boy as he wanted to feel his warmth even more but the grip of younger got weaker and weaker. Yamada wondered why and when he looked at the boy's face he realized him to be fallen asleep. Again he couldn't help and smile to this boy. He watched at the sunset untill night has started. He lifted the younger and carried him safely home.
He placed carefully boy on the bed and covered him with the blanket. Before he went to sleep himself he looked at that sleeping face. He caressed his cheek and leaned down to kiss him on forehead.
***
On morning Yamada found little guy lying on top of him. He couldn't tell yet if he was sleeping or not. ''Chinen'' He gently whispered but no reaction from smaller. With this he understood that he was sleeping. He removed him carefully away placing him on the futon and pulled a blanket to cover him. Then he walked downstairs. Mrs. Chinen has already prepared the breakfast for both.
''Yuri-chan wa...?'' She questioned. ''He's still steeping.'' Yamada responded and she nodded couple times.When Yamada ate the breakfast he went out. His memory of village was still good. He still remembers the certain places Yuto showed him couple days ago.
He visited the only store in village. Last time he found there something that he wanted to buy but unfortunately he didn't have money then. Even though it was a shop in a small village, you could find there a lot of stuff you won't find easily in big cities. From all of the awesome objecst Yamada picked necklake. When he saw it he immediately realized that smaller boy would like it.
''Ryo-chan~. Where have you been?'' Chinen asked older when e returned home. ''Ah, I just...'' Yamada tired to explain but then he showed a bag instead of explaining. ''Here, I hope you like it.''
Chinen received the bag from older and opened it. He took out the necklake, it was silver colored with a note. Smaller boy was totally speechless, he looked at Yamada with a smile and teary eyes, it was the first gift he gave him. He took a step forward and hugged him as the tears of happiness were already running down his cheeks reaching older's shirt.
''Arigatou ne.'' ''Douita. I wanted to give a gift for you before I leave so I...'' ''What??'' Chinen release the hug making older to interrup his sentence. He was shocked, was he already leaving him?
''Since I'm here I didn't remember much. I have to return back home.'' He explained to smaller. ''Isn't this your home!?'' Little boy exclimed ''It's not anymore Chii. Please understand.'' Yamada wiped smaller's tears.
''If I'll tell you about your past. Will you stay here?'' Yamada frowned looking at boy. Did he know about his past? Why did he lie then? Yamada couldn't promise him to stay but he wanted to know the truth about his past or else it will bother him till forever so he nodded.
