Summary: Chinen is just the other guy to Yamada.

It was 30th of December. Two days before the year two thousand and thirteen. Chinen walked in his apartment's living room, threw his body on a couch and sighed. The new year is soon and he still doesn't have any plans on how he's going to celebrate it. Previous years he spent with his family but in this year it became impossible. His father couldn't drive their family car because of broken foot and trip on train will become too expensive for their family. Chinen had school already started on 2nd of January so it wouldn't make any sense to drive to his parent's place and so he decided to stay.
His phone vibrated in his hands and he took a look at it. He got a message from his friend saying if he would like to come with them to club in the new year. Chinen smiled and replied that he will come along. Fact that he won't spend the new year alone, made him really happy.

Chinen brushed his teeth while listening to some music through his earphones. Then he splashed some water on his face and then switched all the lights off in his apartment except for the one in his bed room.
He placed his head lightly on a soft pillow and closed his eyes. Before he could fall asleep, he heard some knocking on the front door. He raised his body up and waited to hear the knocks again. As they continued, he got off the bed and walked to the door. He looked into peephole and saw a person wearing a hoodie. He frowned, wondering if it's the one who he thinks it is.
He opened the door and the person plunged to hug him.
''Ryosuke?'' Chinen wondered but the latter didn't say anything, instead just tightened the hug.
''What are you doing here at this time? Did you fight with him again?''
''He's not related to this. It's about you, Yuri. I want you'' the latter said everything at once with a strong lust tone in his voice. The smaller one only blinked his eyes couple of times.
''But Ryosuke…''
''Please, Yuri.'' the latter begged as he started kissing Chinen's neck. ''Mmmh… Ryo…'' Chinen moaned and just let the guy do what he wanted.

Slowly Chinen opened his eyes in the next morning and saw a figure wearing clothes on.
''You're up already?'' he questioned to the older boy.
''Hai'' Yamada responded while putting pants on. Then he fixed little details on his clothes and walked closer to the lying boy. He stroked his head gently and then placed a soft kiss on his forehead.
''See you'' he said, turned his back and was heading off but Chinen grabbed his hand.
''Don't go. Don't leave, yet.'' he said giving the older boy a pair of sad sparkling eyes
''Sorry, Yuri. You know, I can't. Otherwise Dai-chan will find out about our relationship and I already promised that I'll be with him today.''
Daiki is Yamada's official boyfriend. They both live in the same house and they have considered marriage but because it's illegal for two men to get married in their country they stayed as a couple.
About Chinen, he is only Yamada's lover. Usually the older boy will come to him to have sexual intercourse. They've been on dates secretly before but not so often now. Daiki has finished his college and is now working at home. The boys can never expect when they can bump into him. It would take a big risk, if they date in public. If they kept dates it was only at Chinen's place and they all ended the same, in the bed.
''Stop already talking about him! Don't you care about my feelings? Ryosuke, you will need to decide who to choose.'' Chinen spoke up looking at the boy sitting on the bed and holding Chinen's hand.
''You know that I love you both.'' ''But you can't be together with both forever! It's me or him.''
''I promise to think about it'' Yamada smiled and stood up.
''Wait!'' the younger exclaimed and then jumped up to hug the latter. ''I love you, Ryosuke.''
Yamada chuckled and released the hug. He placed both his hands on smaller boy's cheeks and pulled him into a kiss.
''I know and I love you, too.''

It's already the next day. Time was 22:30 when Chinen started getting ready. He took some cash from his wallet and placed it in his pocket. Afterwards he headed to the meeting place.
He saw some of his friends were already sitting at a table in the club. The music before the new year was light, no one was particularly dancing at the moment. Everyone was waiting for the new year party.
Chinen sat down on a chair accompanying his buddies. Their table located beside a window and really close to the door. They were chatting about many stuffs like how they celebrated christmas, what they're planning to do in the next year. Eventually the topics changed and 15 minutes before the new year a topic about Chinen's and Yamada's relationship slipped out.
Chinen was keeping them abreast of his relationship with Yamada so they always knew what was going on between them. Also they knew that day by day it was getting hard for Chinen with the relationship like this. They know their friend is selfish and stubborn, and he won't share his lover any longer with someone else
The clock was ticking and to the new year there was merely seconds left. People in the club were excited to say good bye to this year and greet the upcoming year. Barmen held tightly onto champagne bottles and waited for the last second of the year to pass.
Everyone in the club started counting the rest seconds in loud.
''FIVE!''
''FOUR!''
''THREE!''
''TWO!''
''OOONEE!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!'' everyone yelled and the champagne bottles were opening.
For this special day the club treated a glass of champagne to every person between 0:00-0:30 o'clock. Music in the club changed from pop to dubstep and people started partying.

The clock already strikes 2am. Eventually Chinen's friends took off to their houses but he still had company with 3 of his close friends. The music changed again to a calmer one, where couples had chance to dance and other people to calm down a bit. Chinen with his friends went back at their table and had one more nice talk with glasses full of champagne. Four of them didn't drink too much, the boys liked to party but the hangover on next day is not always worth it
''Umm, Chii. Am I already drunk or is that really…?'' one of his friends pointed at exit door.
Chinen turned to look behind and saw his lover entering the club with his boyfriend. He immediately turned away preventing chance for Yamada to see him
Time passed by and Chinen had only one friend by his side. He swallowed the last drops of champagne from his glass and looked at Yamada who was slow dancing with his boyfriend while kissing. He observed them from corners of his eyes for couple of minutes. At that time, he wished that he was the one to be with him right now. Not that stupid boyfriend of his.
He hated that penguin boy because he was the one to cause all the pain to Yamada. He didn't care about Yamada, he has always been with his friends and never spent time with him. Yamada felt lonely and sometimes not loved. Once he caught Daiki kissing other girl but how Daiki said it was only an accident. The other boy didn't know if he should believe him or not. He was confused and felt betrayed and that's when he cheated on him. Payback in never a way to solute a problem but being in the center of the problem, every person can make a mistake.
Yamada knew what he was doing and he didn't take it as a mistake, in fact, he liked it. And it continued even after his relationship with Daiki has been cleared.
Back to the recent time, Chinen still was watching the couple. Yamada moved his head on Daiki's shoulder and rested it there for a while. He sniffed the latter's scent and then his lips touched his skin on the neck. He placed gentle kisses on it while his eyes wandered around the club and he spotted his little lover sitting at one table with his friend. The little boy turned his head right away as he was noticed. He wanted to stand up and leave the club like his friends did but he couldn't. He didn't know why. Something was precluding him from doing that way but 'what?' is the question.
Yamada looked at him for a while. He didn't expect to see the little guy here. He wondered for a while what should he do but then just took the situation easily and turned attention back to his boyfriend.
Again, clock was ticking and it showed already 4:30. Chinen's last friend left a while ago and he was sitting at the table by himself
''Ryo-chan'' the penguin boy called his boyfriend who was currently looking at the boy on the other side of the club, sitting alone. Now they were sitting at a table too.
''What?'' he responded without taking his gaze away.
''That boy, is he a friend of yours?''
''Hm?'' Yamada turned to look at Daiki. ''You've been staring at him for a long time''
''Ah, gomen. He is my friend. I'm really worried about him. There's so many things that happened in his life recently. It's not easy time for him.'' he lied
''Sou ka. Then I hope new year will bring a better life for him.''
''Un''
''Maybe we accompany him? He's sitting all by himself.''
''I don't think it's a good idea…''
''Why?''
''Well… he's leaving already, see?'' Yamada pointed at the guy.
Daiki turned to look at him and his boyfriend was right, the boy was getting ready to leave.
A minute ago Chinen checked the time on his watch and sighed. It was time for him to take a leave too. He wore his black leather jacket and headed toward exit door. He gave a last glance at the couple and realized that they were looking at him.
Daiki was smiling at him but Yamada only turned away. Chinen didn't return the smile to the penguin boy, why would he? He hates the guy, he only opened the door and walked away.

It's been a week since the new year arrived. And since that day, Chinen didn't meet Yamada, though he wanted so bad. He wanted to know who'll he pick, him or Daiki and he was nervous about it because after all, he knew how much Yamada loves and needs his boyfriend.
He dialed a number on his phone and called his lover. As soon as the older boy picked up the phone, he asked his question.
''Remember what you promised?''
''Hai. I decided, Yuri.''
''And?''
''I take Dai-chan. I'm sorry, Yuri.''
Chinen didn't say anything. He was quiet for a while but then just turned off the call. He threw his phone as far as he could and fell on the floor while tears were rolling down his pinkish cheeks. He quickly wiped the tears away and breathed heavily. He held his upcoming tears and chuckled by himself. ''I'm so pathetic…to even think that he would choose me. The answer was so obvious'' Chinen hugged his legs and rested his head on his knees.
''Guess I'm not the sun in his world…'' he smiled while tears poured down.

This is not like a present for the event, but it fits to the theme
I wasn't even planning to write anything like this
But after I found out about that song this just somehow came into my mind :DDD
