I don't like who they casted for L either, but Deathnote is one of those series where the look for the characters don't matter THAT much, as long as the characters act like they should. Well, L still needs to look like someone who stays inside huddled up in a fetal position all day, though.

Misa's actor is cute, but she doesn't look loli enough. lol

Yeah, L = not pretty at all. But Light doesn't look too bad, and as I like Light better, I'm fine with it ;p
