I NEED HELP D:

Hey I am going to possibly fly standby next Wed.s or Thur.s to go to Bemanifest, does anyone know anything about standby that would be useful?

What times to go, what airlines to go with, etc? I'm think about doing the X-fares thing that AirTran offers, but then I'd have to leave on the 6th.

It would be much appreciated. :x

Well, I assume there is a high-traffic time and a low-traffic time, but I could be wrong.

I also have the whole day set aside for that. :P

Oh also, your flight will probably be at random-ass times, like 6am or hella late at night.

2nd on this. I flew standby for the first 20 years of my life due to parents who worked for the airlines. If you want to guarantee a seat, you're gonna have to take the 'red-eye' at the buttcrack of dawn. If you're flying by yourself, you'll have a better chance to get on the plane. Early or very late is going to be your best chances. 'Normal hours' of 8am-9pm, well, bring a book or your ipod.

I flew standby one summer on a Summer Standby package (sorta like a Euro-Rail pass), and you just have to be very alert to what's going on with the flights. When you get the standby package, it should tell you which airlines are available to choose from. Just walk up and ask over and over, "You got room on this flight?" And wear something revealing! :)
