Today, in Questionable Use Of Time

I'm not doing NaNoWriMo. Not really. Not by the rules. But I have a story I'm working on for the Speak Its Name Advent Calendar, and I have a number of other things I want to write (mostly for open calls, but also one short fanfic I got bunnied for last night) -- so I'm sort of wondering if I'll write 50,000 words this month. One of the open calls ( Read more... )

I'm definitely procrastinating on writing. *sheepish* I have a couple scenes in mind to work on, but I haven't actually sat down and written them. *headdesk* I think I kind of burned myself out.

So you take a few days and do brain-restoring things. Knitting is good for me. So's baking. Stuff that uses the non-verbal, non-linear parts of your brain. Exercise is said to be good, but I wouldn't know. Music is too, especially if you PLAY music. You're not under a deadline. Feed your brain.

I got a little writing done-- a very little. Maybe more later. I have to get some food into my house. No choice about that.

But, oh, I wish I had a stand mixer! I mean of course you have a stand mixer. And you deserve one, and I bet you use it a lot, and know all kinds of things to make with it. But I have a terrible case of stand mixer envy...

I turned a very ugly wedding gift crystal punchbowl into a stand mixer, twenty-one years ago. The mixer has outlasted the marriage ( ... )

There's a small issue with the reality of buying one today over buying one 20 years ago, too. Can I claim toddler for my procrastination?

That's not procrastination. That's PRIORITY.

"also one short fanfic I got bunnied for last night"

Could you please help me and define "bunnied"?

(the definition for "bunnied" in Urban Dictionary doesn't seem likely)

Shorter form of "plotbunnied." Plotbunnies come hopping up to you and beg to be written. It's acquired a verb form.

I wrote 250 words of Nano and then sat down and read an entire autobiography. O_O
