A publisher whose submission guidelines call for a 30% partial manuscript got back to me today.

They want to see the full manuscript!

"Incredibly intrigued" were the words they used. (Those words give me intense hope.)

Is it just me, or does "incredibly intrigued", "strong narration", and "before making a final decision" sound sorta like "if the rest of it doesn't suck, you're in" ?

It does! I mean, I don't know anything about publishers, but I can't imagine that they throw around phrases like that just for the hell of it. :-}
