Researchers on my planet, Planet X, have just discovered a new land mass or maybe even another world. Our space team is planning to travel to this mysterious location tomorrow. They have already pin-pointed a location in which they will travel to and it is my job to write down what I observe through my telescope

Isn't it weird to imagine that something "alien" could in fact be just like us?
You say that by the appearance of the suburb, it looks civilized because of its cars, buses, houses, etc. What if you were zooming in somewhere else though...not a suburb of fairfax, but an inner city somewhere? What would your observer think about that place? Would he,she,it assume that it was uncivilized or barbaric because it wasn't tidy and organized like 4400 University Drive?
Also, isn't it interesting that even in its likeness to planet Earth, you decide that you should bring a shot gun, just in case. Are we programmed to be afraid of the "other"? Why not take a treasure from your planet to offer as a gift?
