I really enjoyed the engaging AU and the details! :) The plot was really interesting as well yet each character's atmosphere was still preserved and transplanted into another world. Your Niou was *____*! Thanks for the good story, anon :D
YES YES YESSSSSS. I was sooooo sad when I heard Bunta was killed. ;-; And then I was sooooooo sad when I thought Yagyuu died. And then I was all weirded out because Bunta was alive and that made me happy, but Yagyuu was probably dead, which made me sad, and then I kept telling myself, "Maybe he's not dead, because it was just his back, right?" and that maybe I just shouldn't read the end and pretend he wasn't dead or else I'd be all emo the rest of the day, but I'm glad I finished it. :3 Because this is pretty and gorgeous and AMAZING. I loved the Yagyuu-Niou interaction, and especially Niou and his confusion with his feelings towards Yagyuu, because not a lot of people can handle that so well, and I loved how the Switch was incorporated. :D
Oh wow this was awesome! I loved the interplay of Niou and Yagyuu and how you managed to work in the switch still. And Sanada! I loved his insight and depth and how he did have a nice side. He was awesome. And the setting was awesome; just enough details to keep you interested and keep tensions up.
I figured Marui was alive from the beginning (the no-body thing) so I wasn't too surprised when he came back but I'll admit I thought Yagyuu was dead and breathed a sigh of relief when he wasn't.
Thank you so much, anon. This was wonderful
Also, I'm sorry for how late this review was. I was gone for the weekend and haven't had a chance to read until now.
i can't begin to tell you how much i love this fic! i love lust, caution and i think you caught the feel of the movie very well. you did a brilliant job with the plot; i was kept in suspense all the way to the end. i clung on to the hope that you didn't warn for character death and that yagyu isn't tony leung, and so thought, no one's going to die, and he can't be one of the bad guys. that was a cruel twist that yukimura's group were fighting on the wrong side ...
like mentioned in previous comments, you did an awesome job working in the switch ...
nioh's sense of humour, especially the advertisement card for an annoying asshole, was a welcome relief at the end.
an amazing fic - thank you for writing and sharing.
Thank you! It's good to know that someone who enjoyed the book/film also finds this fic interesting. I was worried about being told I'm butchering the original because I took it in a different direction or I'm not being creative enough because I took someone else's basic idea!

(It was v. v. v. tempting to kill them. Really.)
