What's even more sad is that most people fail to realize that the reason school shootings happen is because of peer cruelty (and the ones who do don't do anything to change it). Instead, they continue blaming video games, wicca, "weird" music, the color black, and anything else that deviates from the norm.
It's upsetting; the shootings in schools and everyone who is and has been subject to torment and ridicule by their peers. It's unfair and does nothing but destroy. People don't realize what they are doing when they say or do things to hurt others, or maybe they do and that being the case these are truly evil people. Through all these things, through all the words and all the hate, there is still good in the world. There is still love, and hope; compassion and friendship. What pains me, however, it that one has to look harder to be reminded of these goods that still exist in this world. (no need for a name, you're all i need)
Thank you. I think I'm the closest here who has ever almost crossed that line, and I'm really thankful for you and those who take the approach of compassion over judgement.
I think one of the things in which you are kindest in is that you don't walk away. Even with you gone at college you still try to maintain contact with those you knew. I think that's a really strong ability, and I hope you prosper from it.
