Lady was on her neurotic walks or something of the rather, when she brushed by other people, she didn't seem to care much about who she ran into. Unless itw as the wrong way, of course. And her bicolored eyes weren't pinned on anyone in pacticular. She was feeling oddly relaxed.
That was, until, Lady's too powerful sense of paranoia came in. For one, the girl was constantly on her high alert. For anything. Tapping her garnet necklace absently through some small and worn out "Cannibal Corps" shirt, Lady's hair rose on the back of her neck, almost swearing something was behind her. And usually, she'd be wrong, because of that...nervousness.
Oh, but it wasn't the case. Blue and red eyes snapped onto the girl behind her, already that deep scowl running through Lady's round face, "What are you doing?" She asked coldly, temper starting to rise.
Rikku knew she was had when she felt Lady's body suddenly tense. She was just about to withdraw and hightail it out of there, but it was too late. That primal instinct shot her in the face, that primitive sense everyone has that warns them when someones eyes are on them.
Wincing, Rikku's swirled pupils darted up to meet Lady's half-evil glare. Caught red handed, or rather, with her hand down Lady's pants. She was used to easier targets, but a school full of vampires, warriors, mages and demon hunters was proving to harness just the opposite.
Rikku reclaimed her hand awkwardly, generally, this was where a thief would hightail it out of there. But given they were attending the same school, flight would be little more than rediculous.
Which was worse? The fact that she seemed to be touching her? In her personal space? Or the fact the woman was straight out lying? And it wsn't showing up on her face just yet, but Lady was nearly fuming, reminding herself to at least calm down, that she didn't have her weapons and there wasn't any need to feel big for brave.
And this time? Lady turned around, purposefully getting too close, even if inside of her mind, a part of her was already crying out for vengence.
Lady's full lips parted, in what seemed like she was stuck in her thought process, but the opposite, "You're lucky I'm not carrying my gun on me, sugar."
No one ever said Lady thought clearly when angered.
Rikku's desert touched skin paled slightly at the remark. She shifted her weight nervously from one foot to the other. This little thief was not used to getting caught, at all. She'd been stealing for how long now? She was not some novice Oliver Twist. It was embarassing, and her pride felt like an inflatable pool toy upon which somone was sitting to squeeze the air out.
"Ur...um? Only cuz you caught me before I got it? Hah."
Yeah, that probably wasn't the smartest thing to say.
