I am suffering through some pretty major writer's block these days, in that I seem to have completely forgotten how to write anything ever. Hopefully, it'll come back to me. But anyway, here are two things I have managed to write recently. Both dumb AU things, as I am wont!

djakdlfds;fdf i would like to request that you write more. please. i read the second one on squeak's journal when you posted it there, though clearly i was too o3o!! and amazed over it to comment on it there! ahhh what is it with all these wonderful AUs cropping up all over the place. i highly approve.

I am completely ridiculous when it comes to AUs. tussah and I have about a million in various states of sketched and written out between us. They are my favourite for always.

Especially, especially genre AUs and playing with cliches and seeing how much you can make a story exactly like normal canon except everyone's circus performers or something.

oh trust me, do i feel ya when you say "ridiculous AUs". my pal otilu and i have a friggin' epic over 9000 word iron man-crossover AU right now that hasn't even reached the main part of the plot. RIDICULOUS. but my favourite thing.

genre AUs are so much fun. and omg circus performers that is amazing sjdfklsdf somehow AUs just make everything very exciting all over again. it's like a fun kind of challenge.

WHAT KIND OF CROSSOVER AU. I think it just is so creative what people do with AUs and things like that! You're right that it is kind of exciting. Like working with canon and within canon is really fun, and the constraints of making things work within the universe are great sometimes. But I love the freedom of AUs plus the challenge of making these things that seem like they SO SHOULDN'T GO TOGETHER go together perfectly.

Also, tussah and I tots have a Californian dustbowl era freak show/carnivale AU. A secretly evil carnivale at that. Run by Mephisto. Yeah.

Random fantasy!au is one of my personal favourites! So there's definitely more that could be written. uh. Someday. When I figure out how to write again!

The first one is full of win. FULL OF WIN.

And I am all about the AUs when it comes to Young Avengers. I'm not sure why. Quite possibly because even Marvel does AUs when it comes to their own comics and how could I not follow suit?

I think the fact that Marvel is every bit as ridiculous as anything I can dream up helps a lot. It's like no matter who strange and improbable the idea my brain cooks up is, I can always say to myself "Yeah, but Marvel did House of M" or "Yeah, but Marvel had Ultron turn Tony Stark into a girl." IT HELPS.
