Mechacon 504

Mechacon is over for this year! This year was better than last year even though we missed most of the panels that we wanted to go to over the course of the weekend. The most fun I had been helping another friend and his friends with their costumes until the wee hours in the morning. If there was the one thing I hated was this fabric he picked out. Stupid stuff didn’t want to be glued for nothing. That was just Thursday. :3

Friday, I think we overslept a bit… or we intentionally slept in let because nothing was going on that interested us. The one thing I do remember was going to the dealer’s room to window shop and buy. In the dealer’s room, the first place we went to was the food section, lol. I caught sight of some melon bread and some orange juice beverage called Qoo. Needless to say, I bought 1 bread and a small bottle of Qoo to try it out. They were delicious. Go buy/find some now. Later in the day I bought 2 more buns and a large bottle of Qoo.

Saturday, I don’t much of what happened. I know we went to some panels… Oh! There was an impromptu dating game. The hetero round was just boring :|. The yaoi round on the other hand was just wow. The yuri round was hundred times better than last year’s. We also went to Mari Ijima’s concert. She’s a super sweet woman :3. A few people complained about how they would want to hear more songs from Robotech/Macross (whichever), but I liked hearing her original songs more; To each their own.

Sunday was dead. Nothing happened. I stayed in the room watching the History Channel learning about death masks. Now, that was awesome. Until the Jesus version came on. That was two hours long, and before I realized the con was almost over, I had to rush down to the artist alley and pick up a print that I so badly and impulsively wanted. After I had the artwork in my hand I waltzed back up to the room to finish watching my program. Sunday night on the other hand was just hilarious. We played Uno. Uno. Don’t judge us. So much laughter was going on during that game I don’t even know what fully happened.

A lot of other things happened during our stay in New Orleans. I just don’t actively remember everything. While it might not matter to others, but we enjoyed walking around town. It’s not something we readily get a chance to do. On day, we got stuck in the rain looking for an AT&T store. The first place we went to was a business building ;3. We had made a circle back to where we started to find the retail AT&T.

A few other times we made a few blank trips to a restaurant I really wanted to go to. Only to find out on the last time we went we needed a reservation. There’s always next year. I just wanted to try a blood orange soda.
