Resume of 2010 dramas.

Dec 27, 2010 21:02

Another year has passed and new dramas have filled my list next to other already seen ones. I've had some disappointments and great feelings of satisfaction. I will start my list with the best.

1st place in 2010 takes MY GIRLFRIEND IS A GUMIHO

I still can't get over it. I have no idea where to even start with this. Main actors were flawless eye-candies, not to mention my discovery of No Min Woo in second male lead. Oh, he can hunt me any time. :D It was another Hong sister drama, which made my love them even more. (if it is even possible after illness and obsession of Your Beautiful) The mystic and fantasy element was refreshing to see in a rom-com drama. I definetely liked it. But my most favorite part was GuMiHo itself and how ShinMiNa perfectly acted it out. From her ''Woong-ahh!! Buy my meat!'' to "Nomu, nomu, nomu [..] chuae!" How endaring and loving she was, still keeping the humor level quite high. She had been trapped for a loooong time, so interaction with modern world was enjoyable to watch. Good laugh, good laugh. And ChaDaeWong.. he was scared at first, but the way how he fell for MiHo was shown very nicely and believingly. They start with buckering and go all the way to cuddling and angsting about their love. NoMinWoo has a gumiho hunter character, he is angsty and emo-ish, but we see some human-life-lesson pearls in his actions. At least, that is my opinion. Good side story is the action school directors and DaeWoong aunts romance. It is a crack up from the very beggining. I could babble about this drama for a long long time, but I think it is useless. I just suggest to all you out there who have not seen it - gather up your lazy ass and watch it!!

2nd place goes to Secret Garden

Though this drama is still airing, it has hooked me, made my like a jelly - soft and mushy, completely powerless of not-watching. I was very curious about promised body-swap part, but it did not last long. But when it lasted... oh... P R I C E L E S S. One thing that is also very good - main couple has a chemistry I have not seen (or am not able to remember) before. They make your hair stand up and stop breathing for a while. All 4 characters (main and 2nd leads) are very unique and from connections that are not the most obvious and always seen. C'moon - a poor stunt woman, rich claustrophobic weirdo, f**ked up star.. I just understand I can't quite define the 2nd female lead, but anyway.. she is.. there. :D Also, some not-so-main characters like action club members and KimJooWon secretary just make it even more enjoyable and fun. I am not going to dig in deeper than this. This is another - you-must-watch-it-to-get-it. ^^

3rd place is something non-korean. Yes, it is Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge

.

Oh, Kamenashi, you were the reason I started to watch this. Oh, Sunako-chan, you were the reason why I never stopped. :D Actually, it was everything together. The actors were great in their roles, especially two main leads kept cracking me up. Their ''MA-MA-MABUSHII [followed by head shot]" and "UGLY-SUNAKO [followed by angsty Sunako kicking some butt]" This again also provided us with interesting side characters with their own stories and humor.
Despite the all the funny, it also had some emotional moments, that were beautifully sad, making you cry for the characters.
Priceless, but why the 3rd? I do not like how japanese are still so stiff about kissing in dramas. You most of the time will get one kiss in the last episode. (yes, this one had two but it is still too little, I am greedy:D_ That really is not that cool. Most of kdramas un twdramas have it by 6th episode. :D

I have made my opinion clear on THE BEST. :D But I still want to look back on some good or not so good works. ^^

Mary Stayed Out All Night

Still airing, still watching. I was excited about this. JangGeunSuk + KimJaeWook + some fake double marriage, that should equal oohsumness. I was not sure about MoonGeunYoung, but the stole my heart in the first 5 minutes. ^_^ The drama is quite dull as the critics say, but I guess, for a change, I like the light plot-less-ness and the major amount of cuteness. But I do skip over some parts, mostly the stupid butt-head dads. XD It did not disappoint, it just could have been better. They should have given JungIn more humoristic character before 11th episode. What is my most favorite thing in the drama? The main couple, oh, I would not object if they took all the screen-time. :D

Personal Taste

This also raised up some serious excitement. LeeMinHo -> acting as gay. Hahaha, but it was priceless. I mean, the drama itself. Somehow, it did not earn to be in my top3, but it still kicks ass. It was fun, the side characters in were priceless. Oh how do I love when they act gayish. :D I won't say too much, I think this is a must-watch. ^^ (pic-spam-it-yourself :D)

Oh, my lady.

There is not much to say about it. Only thing I got from it - ChoiSiWon is HOT. :D Okay, I am being mean, it was not that bad. The chemistry and humor was good, romance developed nicely. But it just screamed for more skin-ship, more kissing and hugging. That is all I have to say, how sad. But it is still in my good-list, so I suppose that it had it's charms. (I would pic-spam if I'd know how to shrink the pics in here xD)

Hotaru no Hikari season 2

Oh, how I had been waiting for this. Ever since watching the 1st season few years ago, I was hooked and wanted more, and they gave me it. New cracking up, new drooling on butchou, I just wished for more plot developments and more romance/
kissing/hugging. But.. eh.. our conservative japanese do their thing, even if the characters are way pass puberty and youth to be so non-humble and shy. Maybe it's just me. :D dunno. :D But I loved that butchou finally had competition and the game was full on. XD

Calling For Love

Why does this list seem to consist of dramas, that I had waited and watched with expectations? :D This one - just for Mike He. (yeah, 1st noticeable twdrama) I was excited to see him in a rom-com again. It was not very unique, because I do have nothing special to say about it. (that is why Gumiho earned the top spot :D) I reckon it being fun and enjoyable, it also is in good-list, marked with a heart = when I finished it, I felt very good about it. But is it possible not to enjoy Mike He? :D:D:D

There are only few dramas left, that I have seen, but not mentioned. They fall further away from being good. P.S.Man and Because of You were my twdrama fall downs. Actors were eye-candies, but the plot and characters annoyed me a lot. Of course, there were good moments, funny moments, cute ones too, otherwise I would have dropped it like Momo Love.
Playful kiss was.. err.. ak-ward. It hadn't plot and then everything happened in one episode, then nothing again. I must say though, that HyunJoong has improved his acting and HaNi was portrayed much more beautifully and nicely than taiwanese version of this drama. The bickering was there and I liked it for the most of time. I must say, Ha Ni not being as dumb as she Xiao Qing took of huge annoying points. It should have not been 16 episodes, you can't give this story such a short time. This drama was almost good, I just think it took a wrong turn and got lost. Yeah, I enjoyed it because I knew the story.. but.. could you please turn back time and re-write it? I dunno, give it to Hong sisters or something? :D
(mentioning that - I can bet how dashing would Marry Me Mary turned out to be if Hong sisters did it :D)
Okay, this is it. :D No more writing. :D
Bye ^^

stuff, review
