Back in 2008, I had a story published in Will A. Sanborn's (
was1) horror anthology,
Alone in the Dark. I had never really gotten to write much in the horror genre before, but I'd always been a fan of it, and so it was a really fun project to take part in.
The story I wrote is called "The Stars are Wrong." If you're genre-savvy, you can probably see the obvious Lovecraft homage in the title, there. The story itself isn't really stylistically Lovecraftian (Will said it reminds him of The Twilight Zone, which I think is pretty accurate), but I did try to make it at least thematically something that would fit in with a Lovecraftian mold.
Anyhow, why am I bringing up a story that was published two years ago? Well, that's because Will's
Anthropomorphic Dreams podcast has put out an
audiobook recording of the story. Well, at least the first half; as I understand it, the second half is coming out next week.
I'm actually pretty proud of this story. It's one of my lesser-known ones (mainly because it was never put up online, I guess), but hey, now that's all changed. Go and check it out!
