I'll start off with some pictures. Well, after the cut.
Dragoon!!!
DRG is a beast! It felt like the strongest melee job leveling up in ToAU out of all the melee jobs I've had the chance to level so far (piercing owns, and Penta Thrust is almost cheating at such a low level). It took from March to July to get DRG from 30ish to 75, but I enjoyed leveling DRG to 75 the best. There was a stigma against DRG before but that shouldn't be the case anymore--level DRG and you'll see! But anyway, while it was the strongest leveling up, it's fairly weak on HNM compared to WAR and SAM--blame that on the WS! In merits, DRG are perfectly fine! And yes, the V. Fork is great but it's not like omg-wtf eclipsing Thalassocrat. It does win in style, though.
Other accomplishments have been getting Usukane Haramaki, putting me at 4/5 Usukane, and getting a Runic Key in Nyzul with an awesome Nyzul set (you know who you are!!!). We've also managed to nab 7/8 Body Armor in Nyzul 80, too (2 Denali, 5 Askar). Head armor, on the other hand, hasn't been going so well but whatever!
On another note, Salvage in EST group is dying, dying, dying. If no one takes up the reins to lead the runs anymore, I guess I'll do it. I've been reluctant in the past but I'd rather not let Salvage die. I guess starting Saturday?!!!!!!!
My time in EC has been, for the most part, enjoyable. There were ups and downs, of course, but I'm still attending events and helping the LS as much as possible (or try to, rather). Prior to this, I played FFXI for three years just messing around, with the idea of an HNM LS only coming and going as a passing thought. I never grasped how FFXI would be in an HNM LS--I was all about the chat/social linkshells.
Tubbers and I were in the same boat until he built a raft and stole the paddle to get to the island of EC. I was stuck up a creek without a paddle for a while!!! But I digress, now I can't imagine what to do in FFXI if I wasn't in EC!
As for real life accomplishments, I'm now a third-year undergraduate in Computer Engineering. To my surprise, I've now been inducted into my university's honor society for Electrical/Computer Engineers--offered to the top quarter of Juniors and top third of the Seniors in this field. I've also been owning my mid-term exams so far (94 on Probability and Statistics, 98 on Analog Electronics). This is the best semester I've had where I also found time to play FFXI. I hope I can keep this up!
And with that, I leave you a few pictures to instill in your minds.
