Annie loved weddings. There was so much to do and organize; it was kind of like a Type A dreamland that way. Plus she was able to get a lot of pictures for her wedding binder that she'd never be able to find from a magazine!
So of course when she came in to ask, "All right, what's there for me to do?" it was almost with a preternatural perkiness. Which, to be fair, was how Annie did a lot of things.
They weren't the only ones gathering in the doorway to the kitchen: Miss Oliver and Rilla's parents had both rushed in as well.
Susan was sitting flat on the floor with a slightly dazed expression on her face while Rilla's cat Doc was sitting high on the cabinet with his back up, his eyes blazing and his tail the size of three tails.
Susan picked herself up.
"No," she said grimly, "I am not hurt, though I am jarred all over. Do not be alarmed. As for what has happened-I tried to kick that darned cat with both feet, that is what happened."
